Race Car Driving

About Scott W. Hartman

Scott W. Hartman is an entrepreneur, businessman, and a successful former NASCAR driver with over six years of professional racing experience. His driving took him all over the world, completing up to 33 races a year. In addition to his NASCAR experience he has participated in the Formula Ford and Porsche series in Europe and was a member of Ferrari’s North American test team.

Scott began racing professionally in 1994 after he sold his first business. Being young, rather than investing or saving his profits, he decided to actually live and experience a lifelong dream and built a race car team. His love for the sport came from his early childhood and following in his father’s footsteps of driving race cars.  His passion for the sport came naturally. Cars had always been one of the strongest bonds between the men. When Scott W. Hartman got his first car, he and his father rebuilt the engine together.

When Scott began racing himself, he brought the relationship with his father full circle. He was proud to have his father at his side watching him race. In addition to the connection to the sport, Scott loved the challenge and the adrenaline rush it provided. To him, the forming of the bond of a team and the comradery of the competitors along with the excitement that comes with racing at top speeds in front of a crowd of thousands was a draw that he could not resist.

While his time behind the wheel of a race car is over, Scott’s love for the sport has never subsided, nor has his feeling of gratitude towards the experience. Through racing, he was able to meet fantastic people, see incredible places, and take part in once-in-a-lifetime opportunities (driving for Ferrari, come on!).

Though Scott W. Hartman sold his first business and pursued racing, he never stopped working towards his entrepreneurial and business interests. Currently, he is the Founder and President of Advantage Business Brokers LLC. The nationally recognized company represents sellers of businesses and connects them with potential buyers, provides strategic and operational consulting and raises debt and equity capital for midcap and smallcap companies.

Throughout his entire career, Scott Hartman has been a CEO/Managing Partner of public and private companies, Chairman of the Board of publicly held companies, Board member of privately held companies, private equity investor, capital markets intermediary, consultant, and strategist. To date, he has led over 40 acquisitions/mergers and raised over a billion dollars of growth capital.

In addition to his professional career, Scott is also an accomplished philanthropist. He is a Member of the Board of Directors of the American Diabetes Association and an Advisory Board Member Member to the Dallas Cowboy Club. He is also incredibly passionate about honoring and preserving the memory of WWII veterans. He is currently the New York State Chairman for the World War II Salute Organization. The nonprofit seeks “To convince the President of the United States to designate a state funeral for the last Medal of Honor recipient from World War II, as a final salute to the 16 million men and women of the greatest generation who served in our armed forces from 1941 to 1945.” For Scott W. Hartman, the nonprofit’s mission is a personal one. His father was drafted into the Army, and his grandfather served during WWII. Scott seeks to honor and thank them for the sacrifices that they, and countless others, made to make our nation a better place.
