If you are a fan of NASCAR, you probably know that the tracks were completely dominated by the “Big 3”. The “Big 3” – consisting of Tyler Reddick, Christopher Bell, and Cole Custer – have a combined 21 wins out of 33 races. Now that they are done and are promoted to the Cup Series, there are new racers you need to look out for.
Justin Allgaier is a 33-year-old racer who has had 11 Xfinity wins despite his young age. While he may have been outshined by the Big 3, he now has a chance to really show his potential. Although Allgaier has yet to win a championship, his stats are very promising and could signify a promising talent looking forward.
Another racer to look out for in 2020 is Austin Cindric due to his two impressive wins. Cindric is the only racer who doesn’t belong in the “Big 3” who has had more than one win in 2019. Being only 21 also works to his advantage because he still has that fearless streak that makes him ruthless in the sport and still has plenty of opportunities to develop his skills.
Custer’s departure from the Xfinity team could give Chase Briscoe the chance to show what he’s really got. With an impressive two career Xfinity wins, Briscoe is someone that you should follow in 2020. After earning 14 top five spots, Briscoe is coming from a streak of impressive and consistent races.
2019 was a great year for racer Michael Annett after he earned his first official Xfinity win. He is someone we should all look out for in 2020, considering his impressive statistics from the year before. This may just be his second season, but he’s definitely a rookie you should be paying attention to.
Ross Chastain is also showing some serious potential, and he could be legendary if he maintains the momentum of his 2019 career. After leaving the Truck Series with Niece motorsports, Chastain is back with Xfinity full time and ready to win. He and his teammate Justin Haley could both be some hot commodities in the next few seasons.
NASCAR is a sport that has been around for about a century, and it’s a sport driven by perseverance. What started as entrepreneurial Southerners trying to bootleg alcohol has since turned into a national pastime, but the daredevil attitude remains. This is a sport where rookies can become superstars overnight, and any of the talented drivers listed above could be the next Dale Earnhardt.
